County Clerk

The County Clerk is secretary to the County Board of Supervisors. The county clerk is the bookkeeper of the county and must countersign all vendor and payroll checks approved by the board which have been signed by the chairman. Since 1987 marriage licenses have been issued by the county clerk’s office. Several special duties are required by law.

Birth and death records are no longer filed at the County level. Records available at DHHS Vital Records.

The County Clerk Office does NOT handle Motor Vehicle Titles, they may be obtained through the County Auto Registration Office.

Military Discharges

In order to record a military discharge, you must obtain a Form DD 214. The County Clerk will be able record this form once brought into the County Clerk’s office.
